DFC to Lease Assets of Flasher Farmers Union Grain & Oil
Central Dakota Frontier Cooperative (DFC) and Flasher Farmers Union Grain and Oil have entered an agreement for DFC to lease the assets of Flasher Farmers Union Grain and Oil effective October 1st, 2024.
DFC and Flasher have been recently involved in potential merger acquisition discussions leading up to this agreement. Due to the additional time and processes needed to enter the potential merger, it was decided to enter the lease agreement for the benefit of the patrons of both organizations. Dylan Fuchs will take over Leadership for DFC as the Operations Manager of the Flasher location. Nola Schafer will continue to stay on as a Flasher Farmers Union employee to assist in ensuring the merger acquisition stays on track and to make sure the transition to DFC goes as planned.
Flasher is a cattle and ag. input retailer supplying feed, mineral, fertilizer, and forages in Morton County, ND. DFC is one of the largest independent ag. supply cooperatives in western and central North Dakota providing seed, chemical, fertilizer, application, agronomic services, and bulk fuel to its patrons. Chris Heidrich, DFC CEO states: “Adding Flasher Farmers Union Grain and Oil will expand the DFC geography into a market that will benefit their patrons with added Agronomy products and services that DFC provides. I am also excited what we can bring to the community in the future, and I am optimistic to see how Flasher’s expertise in feed-related inputs can have an impact on other DFC locations.”
Starting October 1, 2024, DFC will operate out of the Flasher Farmers Union Grain and Oil location, and Dylan Fuchs and Nola Shafer will work jointly with customers to facilitate the transition.
